►   (new) Ways to Help in the Wake of Hurricane Ike. Bishop Wimberley of the Diocese of Texas is facing a monumental task in rebuilding his diocese following the damage from Hurricane Ike. On September 17 he gave a video report in which he describes their current status and thanks those in nearby dioceses for their help. One way you can help is by making a financial donation. You can do so by making out a check to the Steering Committee, with "Hurricane Ike" on the memo line. Mail it to Steering Committee, P.O. Box 100846, Ft. Worth 76185. Treasurer Margaret Mieuli will collect the donations, then send a single check on to Bishop Wimberley. She can also prepare a donation receipt for your tax records. Another way you can help is to donate blood. Go to www.givelife.org, the Red Cross Blood Donation website, enter your ZIP code, and you will be directed to the nearest donation sites in your area.
